YANG AND YING

Inspired by the iconic scientist and his ever-anxious assistant from The Muppet Show, this piece draws from the dynamic between Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker—a pairing synonymous with curiosity, imbalance, and comedic brilliance.

Through Maldonado’s contemporary lens, the work explores intellect and unpredictability, control and collapse, order and reaction. Executed in acrylic and finished with a high-gloss resin surface, the composition heightens contrast and energy, allowing humor and tension to coexist within a polished, collectible form.
