Inspired by Suga Mama from The Proud Family, this large-scale work blends pop-cultural reference with deeply personal history. The piece draws equally from the character’s unapologetic strength and Allen Maldonado’s own Southern roots—specifically the legacy of his grandmother from Ramer.
