Inspired by one of Allen Maldonado’s favorite childhood video games, Super Mario Bros. 3, this large-scale work pays homage to the iconic Nintendo cartridge that defined an era of play, imagination, and possibility. More than a reference to a game, the piece reflects the object itself as a cultural artifact—a portal to creativity, challenge, and early identity.
